Okidata laser printers don’t use a laser
A laser printer is one that uses a laser beam to create an image on a drum. The laser’s light modifies the electric charge on the drum where it is touched. The drum is then moved through a toner storage which is collected by the charged areas of the drum. The toner is then moved to the paper area and the work is produced. Laser printers are ideal for business as they are very fast work producers and can handle multiple printing jobs without jamming. They are also quiet and run smoothly to avoid any noise commotions in the office. A laser printer is known for its high resolution that is how many dots per inch they produce. The range of laser printers is 300dpi to 1200 dpi. Some high specialty printers use dpi in the range of 1200 to 2400 dpi and some lasers achieve a higher resolution through resolution enhancement.
There are two types of laser printers in regards to color. The single toner laser printer only prints a monochrome while some color laser printers have four toners and are more expensive than the single toners.
Laser printers produce quality prints and can change the document to different desired fonts. The fonts are ingrained into the printer and can be added using font cartridges. Additional laser printer information can be found on wikipedia.
Some printers like the OKI B2200 from OKI Data is a small LED printer that uses a lot of light to produce similar output to work produced by a laser printer. Laser printers are known to use circulating mirrors and lenses that must remain set in order to use. The laser beam reads information to print through lines and moves down to the next line. For LED printers, a device attached to the printer produces light and shines it onto the document and prints it as it moves downward
